On July 23rd, in collaboration with the Denver Police Department – District 1 and the Sun Valley Youth Center, the Front Rangers Cycling Club will host it’s first 2016 youth outreach program. Starting at the Sun Valley Youth Center, an organization committed to giving Denver’s poorest neighborhood a hope for the future, the Front Rangers Cycling Club will lead a ride to the Sports Authority Field/Mile High Stadium to spend an hour with the Broncos at one of their mini-camps. Following the visit with the Broncos, the group will ride back to the Youth Center for lunch.
This special ride will demonstrate the fun of riding, the reward of riding (the Broncos!) and how riding is a great mode of transportation. Bikes and helmets are provided!
We need some help to make this happen, so consider joining us for all or part of the event. Volunteer opportunities include:
Strider Course Coordinators: For those kids that are not quite old enough to join in the longer ride there will be activities set up at the Youth Center for them to participate. We need a few people to work with these youngsters!
Bike Mechanics: We need folks to help do bike checks on all the bikes – tires, brakes, etc.
Check-in & Set-up: Set-up nutrition/hydration area & check-in area. Check in the youth, assign a bike, helmet and get the youth going!
Ride Leaders: Ride and guide the youth on bikes!
